Journey into the world of science and technology. What will your mission be?
The LES PTA invites all budding scientists and engineers to participate in the Leonardtown Elementary School Science and Technology Night on
Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
The best way to get started on your project is to choose a subject or topic that interests you. What do you think about? Is there something that you find absolutely fascinating? Maybe you would like to invent something or you have an idea how to improve something.
Dream big!! Reach for the stars!! And most importantly have fun! There will be lots of hands on activities and Mad Science of Southern Maryland will be at our Science and Technology Night again this year and will visit the classroom of one lucky student participant.
We need volunteers to help make this a fun, successful evening. There are numerous ways to help and any ideas or contributions are greatly appreciated. If you are a star gazing or technology enthusiast who would like to help and/or share your knowledge please contact Tashasmith@md.metrocast.net

Donuts for Dads is just around the corning. The event will be held on November 17th and 18th in the gym from 7:45 til 8:30am. Each family will receive one book to read together while enjoying donuts, coffee and juice. Look for the flyer in your student's backpack and please RSVP by November 7th. |

Come out and get to know your PTA at Panera Bread on Thursday September 8th. Denise Eichel will be there to say hi and answer PTA questions as well as several board members. We hope you can join us! May 21st 20119am - 11am Leonardtown High School Track
Our first ever fun run/walk is coming up in May. The students have submitted their artwork for the t-shirt and we will announce a winner soon. If you want to make sure you get a Fun Run t-shirt, please complete the registration form by May 2nd.
Check in and late registrations will begin at 9am. A stretch and warm up will be led by Jazzercise Instructor, Melissa Smith at 9:30 and the Fun Run starts at 10. This event will be held rain or shine! |

Muffins with Moms is a great opportunity for Moms, Grandmothers aunts, older sisters, guardians, or any female role model who is involved with your child to come have breakfast, read a story, and just spend some special time together. The PTA will provide fresh muffins, hot coffee, and juice. Each family will get to choose and keep one new book at this event. We encourage you to read this book with your child during this breakfast. So mark your calendar for this special time! |

To kick-off our 1 Mile Fun Run event, the PTA is hosting a t-shirt design contest. The contest is open to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. These t-shirts will be given out to the first 200 people to register for the Fun Run. Designs should be returned to school no later than April 8th. Five designs will be chosen by the PTA and the student body will choose the winning design. Check back in April to see the winning design! |

On May 21 we will be holding our First Annual 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk at Leonardtown High School from 9:00am to 11:00am. Be one of the first 200 people to register and receive a free t-shirt! The registration form will be coming home from school with your child or you can open it here. Our PTA is really excited about organizing such a fun, healthy family activity. We hope to see all of our LES families there! |

Put it on your calendar! The PTA is hosting the Candy Corn Cinema on November 12th at 6pm in the gym. We will be selling treats and refreshments and we will show the movie How To Train Your Dragon. Bring a blanket and maybe even a pillow! We look forward to seeing you there! |
