Polar Express Family Movie Night

Our first annual Polar Express Family Movie night will be held on Thursday, December 11th.  This event, sponsored by the Box Tops for Education team is a Thank You for all of the families who have enthusiastically provided us with an overwhelming response for the program this year.  Our LES students and families are invited to toss on your P.J.'s and robes, bring a blanket and settle in for a fun family evening to mark the beginning of the holiday season.   A bake sale of  cookies and milk  will be set up in the lobby.  Rumor has it that a special visitor with a long white beard and rosy cheeks will be taking time out of his busy schedule to pay us a visit!  Bring your December Box Tops paper with you or a baggie of box tops and receive a free cookie!

Mark your Calendar - Thursday, December 11th - 6pm.

2008 LES Keepsake Tree Ornaments have arrived!

Keepsake ornaments with the new LES logo are in and beautiful.  Please stop by the office and see them on display.  These ornaments can be purchased at the main office anytime or you can pick them up on Polar Express Night where they will also be available.   These ornaments make great teacher or room mom gifts and something your child will treasure for many years to come!

A note from the president..

Many thanks to all of our staff members, students, and family members who helped decorate the Leonardtown Elementary School's Veterans' Day float.   A very special Thank You goes out to Ms. Duke-Wilson for guiding us and providing all the materials to make the float a real stand out in the parade.   Thanks to everyone for joining us on Veteran's Day to celebrate those who protect and serve our country.

2008/2009 Membership forms are now online.

Reflections

This year we had 21 students participate in the Reflections program, 16 will be moving on to the county competition.  Everyone did such a great job on their project!  Congratulations to all our participants.   Thank you Deena Kelly and Keryn Durst for all your help.  Thank you to our judges, Lynn Duff, Steve Whetstone,  and Casey Page-Pheiff.

What a wonderful night!  Good Luck to all the students who are moving on to the county level.

Donuts with Dads

Our Donuts with Dads breakfast had a record breaking turnout! Mrs. Gantz ordered and distributed 239 books to our LES families.   There were many volunteers that helped to make this event such a tremendous success.  Who will ever forget those huge donuts!  We are also very appreciative of the generous donations made by McKays, Giant, and Quality Built Homes.

We are looking for additional volunteers on Tuesday and Friday.  If you are interested in becoming part of the copy team please contact Christine Wojcik at 301-997-0439 or cdwojcik@md.metrocast.net
