Leonardtown Elementary School PTA
Adding value, one child at a time.

Winter break started with a huge bang of a snowfall that I am sure all the
kiddos really enjoyed. 2009 was a great year for LES PTA and we are
hoping for an even greater 2010!
St. Mary's County Council PTA will be hosted their Reflections Gala on
Tuesday, January 19th at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career & Technology
Center. Nine of our students advanced and will be participating at the state
level. Congratulations and great job!
Don't forget Science and Technology night on February 11, 2010 from
6:00 PM-8:00 PM. This year's theme is "Save the Bay". Please join us for
a night of family fun featuring student projects, robots, mad science and
more! Laurie Stone has graciously volunteered to chair this event this year,
feel free to contact her at la.stone@verizon.net with any questions. Please
click here for project guidelines and rules, information flyer, and
parent letter.
The Osprey Discount Cards are still available. This is PTA's biggest fund
raiser for the 2009-2010 school year. 100 % of the money raised is used to
fund programs and events for the students of LES. Be sure to browse the
Discount Card page for more information, including participating merchants,
discounts and price as well as additional order forms. Contact Margie
Cerenzia (301)475-6736 for more information.
As always, we extend an open invitation to join us. Members and
volunteers are always needed and welcomed. Join PTA and help us make a
difference in our children's lives. If you would like to join or help out with
one of our events contact Katrina Zelonis (301)863-8039 for details.
